What Hidden Treasures Are Up In Your Attic

If your attic is anything like mine it probably contains years of accumulated junk; at least that is the way I used to think about it. I have lived in my house for over forty years and have raised my family there. I was still in my early twenties when we moved to this house all thouse years ago. And in all those years here, we have used the attic to store things. The fact that for all these years I have just kept on putting more and more things up in the attic, means that now it is almost impossible for anyone to even get up there.
For years now, my wife has been nagging me to get the attic sorted out. I have always put this off because it seems like such a hard task. However I finally decided to bite the bullet last Sunday and headed up there and I am happy that I did. Instead of it being a nightmare job to get the attic sorted, it turned out to be a really pleasant experience. The attic was full of wonderful memories and not jam packed with rubbish which I was expecting. It felt like meeting up with old friends again as I picked through my old possessions and memories of special moments in my life came flooding back to me.
After spending the entire day going through all the stuff up there I found that there wasn’t much I was prepared to throw away. I actually started bringing much of this stuff back downstairs again much to my wife’s dismay. I don’t think she really minds though because she was obviously pleased to see many of these old things again. I would urge anyone who hasn’t done so in a while to take a walk in the memory lane of their attic.
People that have properties with large attics know they have a great opportunity open to them. And when we say this we very obviously mean loft conversions. Creating extra space has never been easier.
