Easter is supposedly an event that the Christians follow. It based on the events that transpired right before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his subsequent return to heaven. The years has made many additions and changes to the celebration of Easter and in spite of the practice of the traditional Easter happening, Easter bunnies and eggs are now included in the celebration of Easter.

The Purpose Of The Easter Basket

Basically, the Easter basket is used to contain the Easter eggs that the child or the individual will collect or look for. The tradition of an Easter egg hunt has prompted the use of an Easter basket to help with the retrieval of the eggs. Ideally, approximately twenty average sized Easter eggs a Easter basket should be able to accommodate in it. The Easter basket should not be so shallow that the eggs will roll out when the child leans forward or leans over to pick up an egg.

Usually, the Easter basket has a wide mouth for easy access. The wide mouth also allows for easy deposit of the eggs into the basket. Many of the baskets used for Easter egg hunts are made of wicker or other natural materials while some others are made of metal and plastic. There are also many Easter baskets that are made with stuffed furry animas which can make sound and wiggle their tails or noses. The fabrication of basket also has been affected due to the commercialization of Easter. Most of the Easter baskets can be reused for the next year.

An Easter gift basket is one which is used to contain gifts. These gift baskets are varied and can contain any gift item that the giver might want to give to the recipient. For Easter, many gift baskets contain chocolates which are shape din Easter icons. The most common Easter icon are the Easter eggs so one can expect a gift basket of this kind to contain chocolate Easter eggs. Other variations on the gift basket for Easter are chocolate in the form of bunnies, ducks and chicks. There are many other possible gifts to put in a gift basket and these are usually dependent on the preferences of the giver and the recipient. 

Easter baskets usually sell around the start of the season. These can also be made at home by buying a plain basket and then embellishing it with ribbons, and appliqués which may make it more attractive.
