Buying a New Digital Camera? Why do Pros Choose Canon SLRs?

Posted by myarticlenetwork on February 28, 2010

The EOS Rebel series has been around for almost a decade now and in that decade, the technology when it comes to image reproduction has come in leaps and bounds. The company which manufactures this line of cameras has gone with the flow and has even pioneered some of the features that we now find so common within the digital cameras of today. The EOS series was one of the first series of cameras to incorporate a digital processor inside the manual SLR.Of course that was during the time when film was king and no digital enhancement existed.

The use of the chip was to assist the photographer in making the right exposures. This resulted in better lit pictures in their cameras and even vivid pictures when printed because of the exact value of the exposure setting. This feature also ran the auto focus of the lenses which was a novel addition in film cameras since it allowed for less focusing time which saved the photographer time.

Canon quickly developed a full lineup of Digital Rebel cameras to capture a large portion of the growing consumer DSLR marketshare. The first consumer level "test subject" would be the revolutionary EOS Digital Rebel (AKA 300D or KISS Digital) which was the first consumer DSLR under $1,000. Canon had several other digital SLR cameras before the 300D, but they were aimed at the professional photographer not the consumer.

It may seem that the resolution of these older cameras at 2-4 MP was minute when compared to the DSLRs of today. But remember that with the advent of these new gadgets, most shutterbugs are able to do away with the film canisters that are very vulnerable to elements and can become quite bulky in long trips such as vacations or tours. The addition of the LCD screen to the camera has done away with having to wait for your film to be developed to see the pictures you’ve taken. This would also eliminate the bloopers shots that would otherwise be waste of film.

These features were of course still being refined back then. Most of the auto focus functions would not be as reliable, and lenses had their quirks with the most common problem being a cloudy picture which resulted from the incompatibility of the lens light refraction with the fledgling image sensors.

If you are looking to buy a Canon digital camera online, the latest line from this company has also taken a new leap in features with respect to their DSLR line. Getting onto the High Definition bandwagon, they now came up with an EOS Rebel line that is able to take HD videos with sound.Video wasn’t available on digital SLR cameras until just recently, and how HD video has really opened up the realm of possibilities. As with any new technology, this is still in its testing phase and consumers can expect there to be minor issues.

The biggest problem though is where do you go for reliable Canon camera repair? With the average camera and therefore the camera parts becoming smaller all the time they are also becoming more complicated as well. Service centers need to be experienced with your make and model camera, don’t just pay the manufacturer $200 to perform a simple Canon digital camera repair for you, look around and explore your options!

Fall In Love With The Sony DSC-T700 Camera; You Won’t Put It Down!

Posted by myarticlenetwork on February 8, 2010

When I first saw the Sony DSC-T1 digital camera it was the coolest thing ever, but then my love affair quickly faded. The DSC-T1 performed poorly in low light conditions, it was very expensive when released to market, and overall was an alright camera but more of a gimmick. Sony has continued the very popular DSC-T series line and has made improvements with each model they have released. Out of all the DSC-T series cameras I think the DSC-T700 is one of my favorites.

It offers excellent performance while preserving aesthetic values such as an easy body to hold, sleek skin and an ease of use. Inside, it features a 10.1 MP image size CCD that allows for good detail with the pictures you take. The T700 also comes equipped with a 3.5 ” widescreen, and also touchscreen, LCD that contains all the menu and control interface options. for controlling the camera on-screen.

If you’re looking to buy a Sony digital camera , in its lineup you will find the DSC-T700 is a great choice!

The CCD also has the Super HAD design. This Hole Accumulated Diode will allow more and more light to pass on through to the pixels which will allow a maximization of shutter speed during low light condition shots. This element coupled with a Carl Zeiss zoom lens, which allows you up 4 times optical zoom will give you quality pictures even if the subject of the action is far from your base position.

Important features are also face detection that can detect up to eight different faces which allows for clearer group photos of family and friends. This camera also comes with a smile shutter which will eliminate “pout shots” for more vivid and amiable photos of children, special events, parties and the like.

It has also come far when it comes to image stabilization which is the most common weak point of first time users of digital cameras. The camera has both an anti-blur setting in the software that recalculates images and helps eliminate unwanted blurring due to camera or subject movement, and also Sonys image stabilization called Steadyshot. The Image Stabilization does a great job of compensating for shakey hands or unexpected movements. These two features will greatly help to reduce and almost eliminate all blurry photos.

It also supports a full range of other features that will make taking professional looking photos very easy. These include:

  • Intelligent Scene recognition which will make settings automatically for certain lowlight situations.
  • Dynamic Range optimization that allows for the reduction of too much shadows or highlights.
  • There are several different mode settings that will allow you to adjust for a wide variety of different conditions including underwater (as long as you have a waterproof case to house the camera that is).
  • Function guides that will help you learn about the features of the camera.
  • HDTV compatibility in 16:9 resolutions that allows you to interface with HDTV devices at widescreen resolution for the good viewing experience of you photos.

Please refer to specialized vendors via Google search when needing Sony DSC-T700 LCD repair parts such as the LCD screen or a replacement lens. Don’t take your camera to the average retail store expecting to find repair service; they just don’t offer it. If you need some assistance with Sony digital camera repair then you need to look for a specialized shop, like Darntoothysam.com.
