How to sell your expertise online
small business accounting software
I use videos like the one above (took about an hour to produce) to help people using my low cost alternative to small business accounting software i.e. Quickbooks quickly learn new skills and techniques they can immediately use to improve their business. I am amazed more people are not using this really easy way to turn what they know into content and start selling it through the internet to the connected market. The best type of product you can sell is the one you have created and therefore own as one hundred percent of the profits are going to end up in your pocket.
When I first saw how simple it was to create a video and upload it to YouTube or turn it into a podcast it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and I concluded I should share this essential skill with everyone. I am sometimes amazed at how well my target market of small business owners respond to the small business accounting software tutorials I regularly sell and distribute.
The first thing you need to understand is how to prepare your knowledge or content so as you can turn it into video, don’t worry its quite simple. If you have slides created in microsoft powerpoint or apple keynote that contain your some of your knowledge then this an excellent place for you to begin creating your first video. As you will see in a moment you can create your storyboard and produce your video without having to spend any money what so ever on even the lowest cost (apart from free of course) and best tools that money (if you had it) can buy to get your video out there making money.
The best tool I have found and used for producing video for podcast, YouTube and pc video format (Windows Media player or Quicktime) is Camtasia studio from a company called TechSmith, please watch their tutorials before downloading the free 30 day trial. The reason I said not to download the TechSmith software yet was to make sure you maximised your use of the trial to create and sell your first video.
OK you are beginning to get an appreciation of the tools you will need and the approach you should take to sell your knowledge online, what I have given you already will help you get prepared for the next lesson where I go into a lot of detail on how to create the storyboard which I will be releasing to this blog (owners permitting) in the next few days, so look out for part two and if you have any questions in the meantime please follow the small business accounting software links.
