Some of the most popular countries to visit in the south of Europe are the following.
Italy is one of the region’s favorite destinations amongst visitors. Its boot-like boundaries extend into the balmy waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and the wineries and vineyards found all over the country are some of the finest in the world. Venice is a unique location in Italy, as its streets are navigable by gondola, a watery and romantic setting for tourists enjoying their stay. Nestled near the center of Italy is Vatican City, an independent country of its own. The Pope calls this place home, leading to its distinction as one of the holiest places on Earth and a magnet for curious onlookers.

Greece and Turkey are joined in the Balkans by Montenegro. Here, visitors will delight in breathtaking beaches as well as craggy mountain tops to the north. The Mediterranean Sea accommodates the swimmers, while the northern mountains draw in the hikers.
